Isaac Asimov Quotes
The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!', but 'That's funny ...'
I believe that only scientists can understand the universe. It is not so much that I have confidence in scientists being right, but that I have so much in nonscientists being wrong.
Much, much more here

LHC Results
Wow, the results of the Large Hardon Collider (LHC) are just amazing. They just blew my mind. On the same day (10 September) that it was activated, the people visiting this blog more than doubled. On the next day (11 September), I had a hundred visitors, more than I've had in some months... Most of them interested in this blog post.
Somehow switching on the LHC and accelerating protons, changed the internet in a sense that directed lowly internet users to my blog. Intercepting them from their normal routine and forcing them to end up here. I'm not sure I understand how this is possible but I can't wait untill the first scientific papers start being published about this.
Also just imagine what will happen when they start doing the first tests on the 21st of October.
PS
Yes, it works
No, it didn't destroy the Earth

Common misconceptions
The wikipedia artikel. There's some interesting stuff there and I think a lot of pointless discussions could be avoided if everyone would just read this.
Example:
French fries probably originated in Belgium. There are at least two etymologies. One says that the name comes from the cooking term "to french" which means to cut food into strips, hence they are "frenched and fried". The other and more probable explanation is connected with US soldiers in Belgium during the World War II. People in the southern part of the country speak French. French fries are something like a national dish in Belgium.

Tenth Dimesion
A presentation of what it could be. Never has the term mind-boggling seemed more appropriate.

The Zombie Apocalypse?
Is it already here?
I don't really agree with the threat levels in this article, but it's fun to read.

New quote
With or without religion you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion.

Quote
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Skynet?
Is this how it begins? Apparently some of the robots used in the Iraq war displayed strange behavior which I can only describe as 'turning on their makers' and have now been recalled. It wouldn't be a problem if these robots were those small anti-land mine things. No, these were the ones with the mounted machine guns...
